Anaxandridas

Anaxandridas was a king of Sparta, reigning alongside his co-king Archidamus II during the latter half of the 6th century BC. He is primarily known for his participation in the Spartan efforts to deal with the growing threat of the Persian Empire.

Historical accounts suggest that Anaxandridas was instrumental in the Spartan decision to form an alliance with the Ionian Greeks who were rebelling against Persian rule. He also played a role in the diplomatic efforts to secure support from other Greek city-states against Persia.
