Amplitudeshifted refers to a process or phenomenon where the amplitude of a signal is altered in a specific manner. This alteration can be intentional, as in signal processing and modulation techniques, or it can be an unintended consequence of transmission or environmental factors. In digital communications, amplitudeshifted keying (ASK) is a common modulation technique where digital information is transmitted through variations in the amplitude of a carrier wave. Different amplitude levels represent different binary values or symbols. For example, a high amplitude might represent a '1' and a low amplitude a '0'.
