Ammattikuljettajapätevyys, often referred to by its Finnish abbreviation CQC (Continuous Qualification Certificate), is a mandatory qualification for individuals driving certain commercial vehicles in Finland. This qualification ensures that professional drivers possess the necessary skills and knowledge to operate their vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to relevant regulations.

The requirement for ammattikuljettajapätevyys applies to drivers operating vehicles for which a C1, C1E, C, CE, D1, D1E, D, or DE driving license is required. This typically includes trucks and buses used for transporting goods or passengers for commercial purposes. The qualification is obtained through initial training and then maintained through regular professional development training.

Initial training consists of a theoretical and practical part, covering topics such as traffic law, safe driving techniques, vehicle technology, load securing, and customer service. After passing the examination, drivers receive their initial ammattikuljettajapätevyys.

To maintain the qualification, drivers must complete a mandatory continuing professional development course every five years. This refresher training ensures that drivers stay up-to-date with any changes in legislation, technology, and best practices within the transport industry. Failure to complete the continuing professional development training within the specified timeframe will result in the ammattikuljettajapätevyys expiring, preventing the individual from legally driving those vehicles for commercial purposes.
