Aminooxygrupper are functional groups with the general structure R-O-NH2, where R represents an organic radical. This group consists of an oxygen atom attached to a nitrogen atom, which is in turn bonded to two hydrogen atoms. The aminooxy group is structurally related to hydroxylamine (NH2OH), with an organic substituent replacing one of the hydrogen atoms on the oxygen. These compounds are also referred to as O-alkylhydroxylamines or O-arylhydroxylamines depending on the nature of the R group.
