Ambassaden, or embassy, is the chief diplomatic mission of one country in the capital city of another. It represents the sending state and serves as the primary channel of communication with the host government. An ambassaden handles political-diplomatic affairs, monitors developments in the host country, and works to promote bilateral interests such as diplomacy, trade, culture, and security cooperation. It may also provide assistance to the sending country’s citizens in the host country and coordinate certain consular services, including visa matters, in some cases.
