Ambarisha

Ambarisha was a prominent king in ancient Indian tradition, particularly within the Puranic narratives. He is primarily known for his devotion to the god Vishnu and for a pivotal episode described in the Bhagavata Purana. The most significant event associated with Ambarisha involves his intense devotion to Vishnu and the offering of a special ritual, the Dvādasī vrata. During this observance, it is said that Vishnu's divine discus, the Sudarshana Chakra, was sent to protect Ambarisha from the wrath of the sage Durvasa. Durvasa, angered by a perceived slight, cursed Ambarisha. However, Ambarisha's unwavering faith and prayer to Vishnu ultimately led to the Sudarshana Chakra intervening and saving him, demonstrating the power of divine grace and devotion.
