Amarnas

Amarnas is a fictional city and regional center created for encyclopedic reference in worldbuilding. It is situated in a temperate river valley in the eastern foothills of a mountain range, approximately 100 kilometers inland from the coast.

The city lies beside the Silver River, with broad floodplains that support irrigated agriculture. Surrounding hills are forested, and the climate is temperate with hot summers and cool, wet winters.

Amarnas is said to have been founded in the Bronze Age by farming communities, later developing into a regional trade stop during the medieval era.

The contemporary population is about 28,000. The city is ethnically and linguistically diverse, with Amarnan as the local language and a regional lingua franca used in commerce.

The economy centers on agriculture—grain and orchard crops—and crafts such as ceramics and textiles, plus small manufacturing. Amarnas is connected by a regional road network and a river port; buses provide local transit.

Notable sites include the Gran Gate, the Riverfront Market, and the Amarnas Museum of History. The annual Harvest Festival is a major local event.

Amarnas is governed by a democratically elected city council led by a mayor. Public institutions include a municipal library, a secondary school, and a small museum.
