Alvarsezaurus

Alvarsezaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 million years ago. It is known from a single partial skeleton discovered in the Alvaro Formation of Argentina. The genus was named and described by José Bonaparte in 1999, with the type species being Alvarsezaurus bonapartei.

Alvarsezaurus is a relatively small sauropod, with an estimated length of around 15 meters. It is characterized by several unique features, including a distinctive crest on the skull, a long neck, and a relatively short tail. The crest is believed to have been used for display purposes, possibly to attract mates or defend territory.
