Alltabu

Alltabu is an American indie rock band originating from Austin, Texas, formed in 2012 by vocalist and guitarist Alex Rivera, bassist Maya Chen, and drummer Jonas Lee. The trio initially emerged from a local open‑mic circuit, gaining attention for their blend of lo‑fi production and melodic hooks. They released their self‑titled debut EP in 2014 through independent label SoundWave Records, which received favorable reviews for its introspective lyrical content and raw sonic aesthetic. The band’s first full‑length album, "Echoes in the Dark," was issued in 2016 and expanded their audience with its layered instrumentation and more polished studio work, charting at number 32 on the College Radio Top 40 in 2017.

Alltabu has toured throughout the United States, performing at festivals such as Austin City Limits and SXSW, and sharing stages with acts like The Paper Kites and Noah and the Whale. Their music draws influences from 1990s alternative rock, folk‑pop, and contemporary indie trends, often featuring acoustic guitar passages juxtaposed with distorted electric riffs. The band’s lyrics frequently explore themes of personal identity, relational dynamics, and societal observation.
