Alllä

Alllä is a fictional autonomous commune and coastal region on the island of Narella in the Archipelago of Lyris, within the continent of Eldoria. It is noted in worldbuilding and literary contexts for its maritime heritage, ecological governance, and distinctive Alllian culture.

The name Alllä derives from the Alllian word alla meaning "meeting place." The area covers a rugged coastline, fjords, and boreal forests, with a temperate oceanic climate. The main settlement sits at the head of a sheltered inlet.

Founded by seafaring families in the 11th century, Alllä developed under a system of local statutes adopted in 1642, which established a degree of self-government. Its economy historically centered on fishing and timber, with industrial expansion in the 19th and 20th centuries balanced by conservation aims.

Alllä is governed by a directly elected Municipal Council and an appointed administrator. The population is around 9,500 residents, with a majority Alllian-speaking community and small multilingual minorities.
