Alkoksirühmade is a term that refers to alkoxy groups in chemistry. An alkoxy group is a functional group with the general formula R-O-, where R is an alkyl group. Alkyl groups are saturated hydrocarbons, meaning they consist only of carbon and hydrogen atoms connected by single bonds. Examples of common alkyl groups include methyl (CH3-), ethyl (CH3CH2-), and propyl (CH3CH2CH2-). Therefore, common alkoxy groups include methoxy (CH3-O-), ethoxy (CH3CH2-O-), and propoxy (CH3CH2CH2-O-).

Alkoxy groups are typically found as substituents attached to other molecules. They are often part of ethers, which are organic compounds with the general formula R-O-R', where R and R' are alkyl or aryl groups. In an ether, an oxygen atom is bonded to two organic substituents. If one or both of these substituents are alkyl groups, then an alkoxy group is present. For instance, in the ether dimethyl ether (CH3-O-CH3), both substituents are methyl groups, and thus two methoxy groups are present. In ethyl methyl ether (CH3CH2-O-CH3), there is an ethoxy group and a methoxy group.

Alkoxy groups also appear in other organic functional groups, such as esters and carboxylic acids, where they are part of the structure R-COO-R'. The presence of an alkoxy group can influence the chemical and physical properties of a molecule, affecting its polarity, solubility, and reactivity. For example, the introduction of an alkoxy group can increase the lipophilicity (fat solubility) of a compound.
