Alapuolten
Alapuolten, also known as Alapuolten Island, is a small, uninhabited island located in the Gulf of Finland, off the coast of Estonia. It is part of the larger Alapuolten archipelago, which includes several other small islands and islets. The island is characterized by its flat, sandy terrain and is covered in dense forests, particularly pine and birch trees. Alapuolten is known for its diverse birdlife, with numerous species nesting on the island, including the common eider, black guillemot, and great black-backed gull. The island is also home to a variety of marine life, such as seals and various fish species. Due to its ecological significance and the presence of several protected bird species, Alapuolten has been designated as a nature reserve. The island is accessible by boat and is a popular destination for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. However, due to its remote location and lack of infrastructure, Alapuolten remains largely untouched by human activity and preserves its natural beauty and biodiversity.
