Alanycsoport is a term used in Hungarian linguistics to denote the syntactic unit that functions as the subject of a clause. The alanycsoport typically corresponds to the noun phrase that agrees with the predicate in number and person and may include determiners, adjectives, and modifiers. In practice, it can be a simple noun phrase such as A gyors kutya in the sentence A gyors kutya fut, or a more complex expression such as A fiú, aki segített, hazatért, where the subject consists of a head noun and an embedded relative clause.
