Alamosaurus
Alamosaurus is a genus of herbivorous sauropod dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 to 66 million years ago, in what is now North America. It is one of the largest known land animals, with some estimates suggesting it could reach lengths of up to 40 meters (131 feet) and weigh as much as 40 tonnes (44 tons). The name Alamosaurus means "Alabama lizard," referencing the state where its fossils were first discovered.
