Alamofire

Alamofire is a Swift-based HTTP networking library for iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. It provides an abstraction over URLSession to simplify common networking tasks such as making requests, adding parameters, validating responses, and parsing data. The project is open source and maintained by the Alamofire Software Foundation, released under the MIT license.

As a wrapper around URLSession, Alamofire offers a fluent, chainable API. Version 5 and later introduced a Swift-friendly API, improved error handling, and support for modern Swift features such as Combine and asynchronous concurrency with async/await. This makes Alamofire a common choice in iOS apps for networking tasks, particularly when a simple, boilerplate-free approach is desired.

Usage examples are common in documentation, such as performing a request and decoding a JSON response into a model type, or handling success and error cases through dedicated response handlers. Alamofire is widely adopted in the iOS developer community for its balance of simplicity and flexibility in networking.
