Alalcomene

Alalcomene is a genus of moths in the family Geometridae. The genus is primarily found in the continent of Africa. There are a few species within the genus Alalcomene.

The name of the genus was first used by Francis Walker in 1858. Francis Walker was a British entomologist known for his work on the Lepidoptera genus. The naming of this genus was an addition to the many contributions Walker made to the understanding of Lepidoptera.

Alalcomene moths are generally nocturnal, feeding on a wide range of plants. These moths make use of their compound eyes for navigation and vision, which allows them to move around and hunt at night.
