Aktivaatoritests, also known as activator tests, are a type of diagnostic test used to assess the functionality of the immune system. These tests are particularly useful in identifying primary immunodeficiencies, which are genetic disorders that impair the body's ability to fight infections. Aktivaatoritests measure the response of immune cells to specific stimuli, such as mitogens or antigens, which activate the immune system.

1. Phytohemagglutinin (PHA) test: This test measures the response of T cells to PHA, a mitogen derived from plants.

2. Pokeweed mitogen (PWM) test: This test assesses the response of B cells to PWM, a mitogen derived from the pokeweed plant.

3. Concanavalin A (Con A) test: This test measures the response of T cells to Con A, a lectin derived from the jack bean plant.

Aktivaatoritests are typically performed by drawing a blood sample from the patient and incubating the blood with the specific stimulus. The immune cells are then stimulated to proliferate, and their response is measured using various techniques, such as flow cytometry or ELISA.
