Ajaea
Ajaea is a genus of moths in the family Erebidae. The genus was first described by Charles Oberthür in 1911. Ajaea moths are found in Madagascar. They are nocturnal and typically rest on tree trunks during the day. Their wingspan is generally around 3 to 4 centimeters. The coloration of Ajaea moths varies, but often includes patterns of brown, grey, and white, providing camouflage against bark. The larval stage, or caterpillar, feeds on specific plant species within their native habitat, though detailed information on their host plants can be scarce for some species within the genus. Further research is ongoing to fully understand the life cycle and ecological role of these moths.
