Aivoverenkiertohäiriöitä, or cerebrovascular disorders, refer to a group of conditions that affect the blood vessels and blood flow to the brain. These disorders can lead to various symptoms, including stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), and cerebral aneurysms. The most common types of cerebrovascular disorders include:

1. Ischemic Stroke: This occurs when a blood clot blocks a blood vessel in the brain, cutting off blood supply to a specific area. Symptoms may include sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, confusion, trouble speaking, or trouble understanding speech.

2. Hemorrhagic Stroke: This happens when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures, leading to bleeding. Symptoms can include sudden severe headache, sudden confusion or trouble speaking, sudden trouble walking, loss of balance or coordination, and sudden, severe weakness or numbness on one side of the body.

3. Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA): Also known as a "mini-stroke," a TIA occurs when blood flow to the brain is temporarily reduced, but the blood vessel is not completely blocked. Symptoms are similar to those of an ischemic stroke but usually last less than 24 hours and resolve completely.

4. Cerebral Aneurysms: These are bulges or weak spots in the walls of blood vessels in the brain. If they rupture, they can cause a hemorrhagic stroke. Symptoms may include sudden, severe headache, nausea, vomiting, and loss of consciousness.

Risk factors for cerebrovascular disorders include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes, and a family history of stroke.
