Aircell

Aircell, LLC was an American telecommunications company that specialized in mobile data services and in-flight connectivity. It developed and operated a nationwide air-to-ground (ATG) network designed to deliver broadband Internet and other data services to aircraft in flight. The system used ground-based towers along major flight corridors and a ground-to-air backbone to provide two-way communications between on-board equipment and ground stations, enabling services such as email, web browsing, and messaging.

Aircell's inflight connectivity offering was marketed under the Gogo brand, which became widely associated with in-flight

Aircell played a role in the growth of inflight Wi-Fi by demonstrating the viability of air-to-ground broadband

Overall, Aircell is remembered as a pioneer in the development of affordable, widely available inflight Internet,
