Afstandsvisie is a Dutch term that translates roughly to distance vision. In ophthalmology and optometry, it refers to the visual acuity for distant objects. The term is frequently used in patient records and prescriptions alongside nabijvisie (near vision). Distance vision is tested with a Snellen chart at a standardized distance, typically five meters in many European settings, and results are reported as a decimal fraction (for example 1.0) or as a Snellen fraction (20/20).
