Acrosomelessness
Acrosomelessness refers to a condition in which sperm lack an acrosome, a cap-like organelle that covers the anterior half of the sperm head. The acrosome contains enzymes essential for fertilization, specifically for penetrating the outer layers of the egg. These enzymes, such as hyaluronidase and acrosin, are released during the acrosome reaction, a process that occurs as sperm approach the egg.
