Acho

Acho is the first-person singular present indicative form of the Portuguese verb achar, which means to think, to believe, or to find. It is used to express an opinion, belief, or assessment, often with the conjunction que to introduce a clause. For example: Eu acho que ele está certo (I think that he is right). In everyday speech, acho can also indicate a tentative conclusion or estimation, as in Acho que vai chover hoje (I think it’s going to rain today).

Usage varies slightly by dialect. In Brazilian Portuguese, eu acho is a very common way to state an opinion in informal conversation. In European Portuguese, speakers may opt for eu penso or eu creio in more formal contexts, but acho remains widespread in speech.

Conjugation and formality: acho is the present indicative form for eu. The regular present indicative conjugation of achar is: eu acho, tu achas, ele/ela/você acha, nós achamos, vós acháis, eles/elas/vocês acham. In Brazil, pronouns tu and vós are less common in everyday speech, with você and vocês often replacing them.

Other senses of achar exist in Portuguese when referring to finding something (past tense achei, achei) but these are distinct from the present primero person form acho. Acho also appears in combinations such as acho que to introduce a proposition.
