Abwasserführung

Abwasserführung refers to the system and processes involved in the collection, transport, and treatment of wastewater. This encompasses all aspects of managing liquid waste generated by human activities, including domestic sewage from households, industrial wastewater from factories and businesses, and stormwater runoff from urban and rural areas. The primary goal of Abwasserführung is to protect public health and the environment by preventing the contamination of water sources and land with harmful pollutants.

The typical Abwasserführung system begins with the collection of wastewater through a network of underground pipes, known as sewers. These sewers are designed to carry the wastewater by gravity or with the assistance of pumping stations to a wastewater treatment plant. At the treatment plant, the wastewater undergoes a series of physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove solid materials, organic matter, nutrients, and other contaminants. The treated effluent is then discharged into natural water bodies, such as rivers or oceans, in compliance with environmental regulations.
