Abgabemenge

Abgabemenge is a German term used in administrative, contractual and regulatory contexts to denote the quantity that must be handed over, submitted or delivered by a party to another party or to a public authority within a defined period or under a contract. It serves as an obligation to submit a certain amount rather than merely a delivered quantity to a customer.

In procurement and supply chains, the Abgabemenge describes the obligation to provide goods, materials, or data to a recipient or authority. It also appears in quota or levy systems, where a producer or operator must surrender a specific share of production or input to a central system, facility, or regulator. The concept can also apply to the submission of goods or waste to specialized facilities or to reporting requirements.

Typically, the Abgabemenge is specified in concrete units such as kilograms, tonnes, liters, pieces, or other pertinent measures, and is fixed for a defined time frame (for example a delivery period or calendar year). It can be a fixed minimum or maximum quantity, or it can be determined by a formula that takes into account factors like production capacity, demand, or regulatory changes. Deviations from the obligation may trigger penalties, price adjustments, renegotiation of terms, or contract termination, subject to applicable rules and exemptions such as force majeure.
