AM signals are relatively simple to generate and receive, making them suitable for long-distance broadcasting. However, they are also more susceptible to interference and noise than other types of modulation, such as Frequency Modulation (FM). This is because AM signals have a wider bandwidth, which makes them more susceptible to interference from other signals.

Despite these limitations, AM broadcasting remains popular in many parts of the world, particularly for news and talk radio. It is also used for shortwave broadcasting, which allows for long-distance communication over the horizon. In recent years, there has been a decline in the popularity of AM radio, as listeners have shifted to digital formats like FM and online streaming. However, AM broadcasting continues to play an important role in radio broadcasting, particularly for those who prefer the traditional sound of AM radio.
