A82
The A82 is a major road in Scotland, designated as an A-class trunk road. It runs from Glasgow to Inverness, passing through some of the country’s most famous Highland scenery. The route begins in Glasgow and heads northwest, skirting the edge of the central belt and along the shores of Loch Lomond before entering the Highlands. It traverses scenic areas including Glencoe and the Fort William region, passes near the Buachaille Etive Mor, and continues through the Great Glen toward Fort William, Fort Augustus, and Loch Ness, before finishing in Inverness. The road provides an important link for both local communities and long-distance traffic and is a popular corridor for tourism to outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and climbing in the surrounding mountains, including Ben Nevis, Scotland’s highest peak.
