2LO
2LO was a pioneering British radio station that began broadcasting on February 18, 1922, from a small room in London. It was operated by the British Broadcasting Company Ltd., a consortium of wireless set manufacturers. The station's initial broadcasts were experimental, featuring talks, music, and news readings. John Reith, the general manager of the BBC, envisioned 2LO as a public service, aiming to educate, inform, and entertain the nation.
The station quickly gained popularity, and its broadcasts became a regular fixture in many British homes. 2LO
