It was discovered on 16 October 2000, by astronomers of the Lincoln Near-Earth Asteroid Research at the Lincoln Laboratory's Experimental Test Site near Socorro, New Mexico. The object is classified as a non-family asteroid from the background population, with a spectral type of Xk, indicating a primitive composition. Its orbit has a semi-major axis of 3.13 astronomical units (AU), an eccentricity of 0.14, and an inclination of 10.4 degrees with respect to the ecliptic. The asteroid completes one orbit around the Sun every 5.02 years. As of 2023, no rotational lightcurve data has been obtained for this object, leaving its rotation period and shape unknown.
