Õhkspritsimine, also known as air spraying or pneumatic spraying, is a coating application technique that utilizes compressed air to atomize and propel a liquid coating onto a surface. This method involves a spray gun that mixes the coating material with compressed air. The air not only breaks the liquid into fine droplets but also creates a propulsive force that directs the spray towards the target substrate.

The process begins with the coating material, such as paint, varnish, or other finishes, being drawn from a container, often a cup attached to the gun or a remote tank. Compressed air, supplied by an air compressor, is then introduced into the spray gun. As the trigger is pulled, the air and coating material are forced through the nozzle, where they combine and are expelled as a fine mist. The fineness of the atomization, and thus the quality of the finish, depends on factors like air pressure, nozzle size, and the viscosity of the coating.

Õhkspritsimine is widely used in various industries, including automotive repair, furniture finishing, woodworking, and general manufacturing, due to its ability to produce a smooth and uniform coating.
