Üledékelemzés, often translated as sediment analysis or sedimentation analysis, is a scientific technique used to determine the size distribution of particles within a sample. This is particularly important in fields such as soil science, geology, material science, and industrial process control. The principle behind üledékelemzés is that larger and denser particles settle faster in a fluid than smaller and less dense particles. By measuring the rate at which different sized particles settle, or the concentration of suspended particles at various depths and times, one can infer the particle size distribution.

Common methods for performing üledékelemzés include the hydrometer method and the pipette method. The hydrometer method involves inserting a hydrometer into a liquid suspension over time.
