ülahelid
Ülahelid, also known as upper partials or overtones, are acoustic phenomena that occur alongside a fundamental frequency when a musical instrument or a vocal cord produces a sound. When a sound source vibrates, it does so not just at its primary frequency (the fundamental), which determines the pitch we perceive, but also at a series of higher frequencies. These higher frequencies are the ülahelid.
The ülahelid are typically integer multiples of the fundamental frequency. For example, if the fundamental frequency
The study of ülahelid is fundamental to understanding acoustics, music theory, and signal processing. It explains
