ízfelszínét

Ízfelszínét is a term that refers to the surface of the tongue that is responsible for taste perception. This surface is covered in papillae, which are small, knob-like projections. There are several types of papillae, including fungiform, filiform, and circumvallate papillae. Fungiform papillae are scattered across the tongue and contain taste buds, as do circumvallate papillae, which are larger and arranged in a V-shape at the back of the tongue. Filiform papillae are the most numerous and are found on the front and sides of the tongue; they do not contain taste buds but are important for texture and grip.

Within the papillae are taste buds, which are the sensory organs for taste. Each taste bud contains about 50 to 100 taste receptor cells. These cells have microscopic hair-like projections called microvilli that extend into the taste pore, a small opening on the surface of the papilla. When food or drink enters the mouth, molecules dissolve in saliva and come into contact with these microvilli. Different taste receptor cells are sensitive to specific taste qualities: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. The interaction between taste molecules and the receptor cells generates a signal that is transmitted to the brain via cranial nerves, allowing us to perceive taste.
