The Øresund Region, also known as the Greater Copenhagen area or the Sund region, is a transnational metropolitan area centered around the Øresund Strait. It encompasses parts of eastern Denmark, primarily the island of Zealand including Copenhagen, and western Sweden, notably the province of Scania. This region is characterized by its close economic and social integration, facilitated by the Øresund Line, a railway and road bridge connecting Copenhagen and Malmö.
