Östersjön

Östersjön is the Swedish name for the Baltic Sea. It is a brackish sea located in Northern Europe, bordered by Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, and Denmark. The Baltic Sea is one of the largest bodies of brackish water in the world, with a salinity of around 6-7 parts per thousand. This low salinity is due to a combination of freshwater inflow from numerous rivers and limited water exchange with the North Sea.

The Baltic Sea has a long and rich history, with evidence of human settlement dating back thousands of years. It has been an important trade route and a site of numerous conflicts throughout history. The sea is also home to a unique ecosystem, with a variety of marine life adapted to its brackish conditions.
