Výparník, also known as an evaporator, is a crucial component in many refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Its primary function is to absorb heat from the surrounding environment by facilitating the evaporation of a refrigerant. This process is fundamental to the cooling cycle.

In a typical refrigeration system, a liquid refrigerant enters the výparník at low pressure. As it flows through the coils of the výparník, it absorbs heat from the air or substance being cooled. This absorbed heat causes the refrigerant to transition from a liquid to a gaseous state, or evaporate. The evaporation process requires energy, which is drawn from the surroundings, thereby lowering their temperature.

Once the refrigerant has completely evaporated, it leaves the výparník as a low-pressure gas and moves to the compressor. The design of the výparník varies depending on the application, but it generally consists of a network of tubes or fins through which the refrigerant circulates. The larger the surface area of the výparník, the more efficiently it can transfer heat and evaporate the refrigerant, leading to more effective cooling. Different types exist, such as fin-and-tube, plate, and shell-and-tube evaporators, each suited for specific industrial or domestic uses.
