Värvispektris refers to the range of visible light colors. When white light passes through a prism, it separates into its constituent colors, forming a spectrum. This spectrum typically includes red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, often remembered by the acronym ROYGBIV. Each color corresponds to a different wavelength of light. Red has the longest wavelength and violet has the shortest.

The perception of color is a complex phenomenon involving light, the object reflecting or emitting it, and the observer's eye and brain. Objects appear to be a certain color because they absorb some wavelengths of light and reflect others. For example, a red apple absorbs most wavelengths of light but reflects red wavelengths, which then reach our eyes.
