Väljundtransistorid, or output transistors, are semiconductor devices used to amplify or switch electronic signals. They form a crucial part of many electronic circuits, controlling the flow of current to a load. In essence, they act as a gate, with a small input signal controlling a much larger output current.

There are several types of output transistors, with bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) and metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) being the most common. BJTs use a small base current to control a larger collector current, while MOSFETs use an input voltage applied to the gate to control the current flow between the drain and source. In audio amplifiers, they are responsible for delivering the amplified sound signal to the speakers. In motor control applications, they regulate the power supplied to electric motors, enabling speed and direction control.
