Várólista (plural várólisták) is a registry of people who have requested or are eligible to receive a service, product, or allocation but must wait due to limited capacity. The list is used to manage demand and allocate scarce resources when supply cannot meet immediate needs. Entries can be added when a person applies or when a service identifies a candidate in need.

Entries are typically assigned a priority or scoring; some lists operate on a first-come-first-served basis, while others use clinical urgency, age, or other criteria. Status can be updated, and entries can expire, be canceled, or be moved to active status once capacity opens.

Common areas include healthcare (for elective surgeries, organ transplants, imaging, and diagnostic tests); education or housing (admissions or allocations with limited seats); and public services that require scheduling. Waiting lists help balance fairness, efficiency, and wait times, but rules vary by jurisdiction.

Challenges include unequal access, long waits, and routinely constrained resources. Policies aim to minimize wait times while ensuring safety and equity, for example by expanding capacity, adjusting prioritization criteria, improving transparency, and offering alternatives when appropriate.
