Vulkaniseerimist is the chemical process of converting natural rubber or related polymers into more durable materials by adding sulfur or other equivalent curatives or accelerators. This process involves heating the rubber with sulfur, causing cross-linking of the polymer chains. These cross-links create a stronger, more elastic, and more stable material, preventing it from becoming sticky when heated and brittle when cooled, as untreated rubber tends to do.
