vochtigbestendig
Vochtigbestendig describes the property of materials or equipment to withstand exposure to moisture and humidity. It indicates a level of protection against damp conditions, condensation, and light splashes, but it does not imply waterproofing or immersion resistance. In Dutch product labeling, vochtigbestendigheid is often described in terms of environmental conditions the item tolerates, rather than a formal rating; when formal ratings exist, they are usually expressed through international standards such as IP codes, humidity tests in IEC/EN standards, or product-specific test protocols.
It is commonly used for electronics enclosures, lighting, outdoor equipment, and certain building materials and finishes
Vochtigbestendig is not waterproof. Prolonged exposure to water, condensation, or temperature cycling can degrade the protection.
