The verorajojen are a group of ancient structures discovered in the Republic of Karelia, Russia. Located in the region of Verkhoyansk, these enigmatic sites date back to the Early Neolithic period and feature numerous rock art depictions.

The term "verorajojen" comes from the Karelian language and roughly translates to "rock drawing songs" or "rock singing". The site consists of an assortment of rocks featuring carvings and drawings that tell stories of the local culture. Archaeologists attribute these visual narratives to the activity of Pre-Finno-Ugric people who resided in the region around five to six thousand years ago.

Researchers reveal that the imagery found in the rocks range from realistic to abstract and stylized depictions of their daily life, through to mythological and spiritual scenes. Detailed analysis of the scenes depicted shows an incredible level of various watering devices that are reminiscent of ancient irrigation systems and public well systems. While the significance of these remains is not entirely clear, it has been suggested by a few leading researchers that the signs signify a system of agricultural management. Much about these intriguing images however is still unknown.

Some items of these carvings appear painfully abstract and have educated guessers weave theories that possibly mirror or theorize sacred rates or proximity events. Despite extensive excavations and explorations, there is still more to decipher in the meaning behind these essentially palmsized sketches.
