Vekselstrømsmotoren, or AC motor, is an electric motor that operates by using alternating current. Their speed is constant and not dependent on slip. Synchronous motors are often used in applications requiring precise speed control or when a constant power factor is desired.

The AC motor's design allows for a wide range of power outputs, from fractional horsepower motors used in small appliances to massive motors powering industrial machinery. Their reliability and ease of maintenance have made them a cornerstone of modern technology and industry.
