Vejen is a town in southern Denmark and the seat of Vejen Municipality in the Region of Southern Denmark. It lies on the Jutland peninsula and functions as an administrative, commercial, and cultural center for the municipality. The name Vejen derives from the Danish word for road (vej) with the definite article -en, reflecting its historical position along a major route connecting regions of Jutland.

Historically, the area has roots in rural settlements and trade routes. During medieval times the town developed around churches and inns serving travelers.
