Vasokonstriktiota is a term used in pharmacology to refer to substances that cause vasoconstriction, the narrowing of blood vessels. By reducing the diameter of arterioles and some venous vessels, these agents increase vascular resistance and often raise systemic blood pressure. Vasokonstriktiota can be endogenous, such as norepinephrine, angiotensin II, vasopressin, and endothelin, or exogenous, administered as drugs.
