Ushiriki is a Swahili noun meaning participation, involvement, or engagement of individuals or groups in activities, decision-making, or shared tasks. It derives from the verb kushiriki, to participate or to share, with ushiriki functioning as the nominal form in the language’s class system.

In practice, ushiriki describes the degree and quality of people's involvement in processes that affect them.
