Urineblaas is a term of Dutch origin that translates to "urinary bladder" in English. The urinary bladder is a muscular organ in humans and other animals that stores urine. It is located in the pelvis, behind the pubic bone. The bladder is part of the urinary system, which also includes the kidneys, ureters, and urethra.

The kidneys filter waste products from the blood and produce urine. Urine travels from the kidneys down the ureters to the bladder. When the bladder is full, it sends a signal to the brain, indicating the need to urinate. Urination, also known as micturition, is the process of emptying the bladder. This is accomplished by the contraction of the bladder muscles and the relaxation of the sphincter muscles that control the flow of urine out of the body through the urethra.
