Ultralydtesting, also known as ultrasonic testing (UT), is a non-destructive examination method that uses high-frequency sound waves to detect internal and external flaws in materials and products. These sound waves are transmitted into the material by a transducer and reflect back when they encounter a discontinuity, such as a crack, void, or inclusion. The reflected waves are then detected by the same transducer or a separate receiver, and the time it takes for the sound waves to travel and return is analyzed to determine the location and depth of the flaw.
