Ubaigs, also known as Ubaig, are a small ethnic group primarily found in the Indian state of Assam. They are part of the larger Bodo-Kachari tribe and share cultural and linguistic similarities with other tribes in the region. Ubaigs are known for their distinct traditional attire, which includes colorful turbans, embroidered shirts, and traditional footwear. Their traditional occupation is agriculture, with rice and millet being the primary crops. They also practice shifting cultivation, known as Jhum, which involves clearing and cultivating land before it becomes infertile and moving on to a new area.
