täidevõim
Täitevõim refers to the executive branch of government in Estonia. It is responsible for implementing and enforcing laws, as well as managing the day-to-day affairs of the state. The täitevõim is headed by the Prime Minister and includes the government, which is composed of ministers. The government proposes legislation to the Riigikogu (parliament) and oversees various ministries and government agencies. The Prime Minister is appointed by the President of Estonia and must be approved by the Riigikogu. The government is accountable to the Riigikogu, which can express a vote of no confidence. The täitevõim plays a crucial role in the functioning of the Estonian state, ensuring that policies are enacted and public services are delivered. Its functions include foreign policy, defense, economic management, and social welfare. The structure and powers of the täitevõim are defined by the Constitution of Estonia.
